Park to host luncheon meeting with conservative civic group
President Park Geun-hye will host a luncheon with the leaders of a large conservative civic group on Monday to call for their support in coping with economic and security challenges, her office Cheong Wa Dae said.
The luncheon gathering with the key members of the 1.5-million-member Korea Freedom Federation will bring together some 260 attendees including those leading regional and overseas KFF branches.
"President Park will encourage KFF members who have contributed to the regional community through their volunteer services to spread freedom and market economy, and support the socially vulnerable," Cheong Wa Dae said in a press release.
It is the first time Park has hosted a meeting with the KFF leaders at her office.

Launched in 1954, the KFF is one of the country's largest civic groups. It has 17 major regional offices and 28 overseas offices.
The group has been carrying out a campaign to highlight the benefits of liberal democracy and the importance of peace on the Korean Peninsula through various educational programs for young generations. It has also been engaged in various activities to foster national unity. (Yonhap)
